Most Linnworks merchants we talk to are stuck doing the same handful of manual jobs every day. Here are seven of them, and how each one collapses to a single sentence once you’ve plugged Linnworks into Claude via MCP.
1. The morning open-orders ritual
You open Linnworks, filter Open Orders by date, scroll, look for anything stuck, copy a few references into a spreadsheet. 20 minutes, every day.
Replace with: “Show me every open order that’s been waiting more than 48 hours, grouped by source.”
2. The low-stock walk
You filter stock items by quantity, eyeball the list, mentally cross-reference with sales velocity, decide what to reorder.
Replace with: “Which SKUs are below 5 units and have sold more than 10 in the last 30 days?”
3. The PO chase
You open Purchase Orders, look for anything outstanding, scroll through to find the ones overdue.
Replace with: “Which purchase orders are more than 14 days past their expected delivery date?”
4. The refund triage
You open Refunds & Returns, eyeball the ones still actionable, decide what to escalate.
Replace with: “List all refunds over £100 from the last 7 days and tell me which channels they came from.”
5. The channel performance check
You open processed orders, filter by channel, count, total, repeat for the other channels, paste into a spreadsheet.
Replace with: “Compare revenue by sub-source for the last 7 days vs the previous 7 days.”
6. The customer history lookup
A phone rings. “Is this John’s third order or fourth?” You search customers, look at history, count.
Replace with: “How many orders has john@acme.co.uk placed in the last 12 months and what’s their total spend?”
7. The ad-hoc report your boss asked for at 4pm
The kind of report that doesn’t fit any existing Linnworks export. You used to start exporting CSVs and building pivot tables.
Replace with: Whatever the question is, in plain English. The MCP server has access to orders, stock, customers, purchase orders, refunds and returns — your AI assistant can combine them however you need.
The pattern
Notice what’s common? Each of these is a question Linnworks already has the answer to. You just spent five minutes asking it the wrong way — by clicking, filtering, scrolling.
MCP lets you ask in English instead.
